True Beauties Farewell Session PT 1

Roberts Family Photography will soon be launching a new division of our studio that will be focused on Teen and Senior portraits. While we have always offered Senior portraits we have never truly focused on them in quite the way we did our baby portraits.

With the addition of Devin to our team we have been able to expand our focus a bit and really start building a Senior portrait division that we can be proud of. We think you are really going to love what we have coming up in the next year so stay tuned!

As part of our foray into Senior portraits we began working with a group of amazing young women and somewhere along the way, they became family. We photographed these same three women several times throughout the school year, asked them lots of questions and well I think Emily says it best, "Andi Roberts and Devin Page didn't just bring together some girls graduating, they brought together a family. ♥"

Emily, the moment you walked into my office as a quirky 9th grader to mentor with me I knew you were going to grow into someone amazing, I wasn't wrong! You have entertained Devin and I more than you can know. You have an amazing sense of style - and your weave - well your weave should have it's own zip code. We feel so lucky you picked our studio so many years ago to mentor with and we feel even luckier we didn't scare you off!

Taylor, our resident political activist and actress - you are an amazing woman. We cannot wait to see how you take the world by storm - we love the way your brain works and your ability to speak out for what you believe in and to form your own belief system based on what you know in your heart to be true.

Casey, the surprise comedianne, we have enjoyed so much laughing at your antics, the way you are willing to grace us with a hurkey and your fierce loyalty to Roberts Family Photography. You have an amzing future ahead of you.

Thanks so much to all three of you and the other True Beauties  for becoming part of the Roberts Family and for being the first class of True Beauties. It's because of you that we feel so excited to expand our studio to include a Senior Portrait division. We love you!

This is their farewell session. We took them to place in Athens county that is dear to us and photographed them in the evening. This is part 1 of that session. This is what True Beauty looks like:

 

Nicolette - Parkersburgs Senior Portrait Photographer

I am definitely behind on posting senior portraits! This is a session from the fall with Nicolette. Nicolette attends Federal Hocking High School. Her Senior Portrait Session was a ton of fun because the wind really whipped her around and we got some really interesting random shots of her.

Taylor Parkersburg High School {Ohio West Virginia Senior Portrait Photographer}

Taylor, Roberts Family Photography True Beauty Model,  was a pleasure to work with. We went to her Uncle's farm out in Palestine - Devin had never been to that area so it was real treat for her. It rained the entire ride there and was still raining a bit when we started but after about 20 minutes the sky cleared up and let us have a great photo shoot!

When do you graduate?
May of 2011. I never thought the day would come, and now it is right around the corner!

 

What is your favorite item in your closet?
My pappy's sweater. It's the one thing that will always keep me close to him.

What is your dream job?
To be an actress on Broadway.

 

Who is the last person you got a text message from?
Haha, I don't have a phone at the moment (I know, a teenager without a phone?!), but the last time I used my mom's phone, I was texting my friend, Nick.

 


What three songs are played most on your ipod right now?
I'm a Fool to Want You by Billie Holiday, Night and Day by Frank Sinatra, and When The Sun Goes Down (from the In The Heights Broadway soundtrack) by Mandy Gonzalez and Christopher Jackson.

If you could be any kind of animal what would it be?
Oh my. A sheep, I believe. I absolutely adore them.

Why did you choose the shirt you are wearing right now?
Because today was Village People day for Spirit Week, and this shirt kind of fit in with the "Biker"/Glenn Hughes look I was going for.

What did you have for breakfast?
I didn't eat breakfast :x

 

What is your favorite TV show?
Oh goodness. I have too many to name. Glee, Bones, and Lie to Me are a few.

 


What did you love most about getting your portraits taken at Roberts Family Photography?
I was just talking about this actually. I loved how being photographed by Andi and Devin made me feel. The way they captured me showed me how truly beautiful I really am. I am in the business of acting, and actresses these days are pressured to be this perfect image. I have always struggled with my image, thinking I wasn't beautiful at all. Roberts Family Photography helped me see the True Beauty I really am.

What we loved most about photographing Taylor was that she put us in mind of a 1940's Hollywood Starlet. She was super easy to pose and a great sport about rolling around in the wet grass!

Senior Models Wanted!

Roberts Family Photography is looking for Senior Models - I have one for PHS and would like one for Warren, Belpre & Federal Hocking.

Models should be female, fashionable, outgoing & not afraid to try new things.

Models DO NOT need to look like magazine models but they MUST believe in unleashing TRUE BEAUTY in every teen girl and be willing to help us spread this message! Please have anyone interested FB me! Are you quirky, geeky, sporty, arty, nerdy, sassy, imperfect, silly, or funny? Then you are exactly who I am looking for!

I am committed to creating beautiful, empowering images of teen girls and have in fact taken the following pledge from the Teen Identity Photographer Network:

TEEN IDENTITY PHOTOGRAPHERS PLEDGE

As a Teen Identity network photographer/filmmaker, I agree to uphold and promote these ideals:

1. I will provide a photo/video session experience with teen girl clients designed to elevate their self esteem, make them feel beautiful and empowered.
2. Any photos and videos I (or my studio) create portraying teen girls will be done without over-sexualizing the subject. Photos and videos will be created tastefully, preserving the “innocence” of youth, yet at the same time striving to reveal the true personalities of our subjects.
