I love family portrait sessions! I love fun locations like Harmar Village in Marietta. I love this family.
I have known this family for at least ten years. They are pretty special to me.
I met Mike in my old life as a corporate account manager for a local family owned business. He was my saving grace. He was one of the reasons I liked my job. He was also one of the reasons I was able to start my own business.
While working for him he taught more than I could ever possibly thank him for from how to write succinct emails to customers, to how to (kind of) code my own website and a million other things I use every day. He has a stellar set of ethics, an amazing analytical and creative problem solving mind, a dry sense of humor and he speaks sarcasm like nobody's business :) He is a kind, good man. And he is probably embarrassed by my gushiness and ready to kill me.
His wife is pretty amazing too. She is someone I always look forward to meeting with. Our sessions and meetings are more like a visit with an old friend. We catch up, navigate the kid’s moods and have fun making artwork of her family together. She trusts me to create art work for home, suggest new products and allows me to represent her family through portraits.
This family has weathered the changes, growing pains, bumps, triumphs and growth of my business right along with me. Their daughter would probably throw a fit if she had to be photographed by someone else, because I have become part of her childhood. Their son still regards me with shy eyes, and is so much like his Daddy that I can't help but laugh when he looks at me as if I have lost my mind.
I've seen that look before.
I love this family. Love them. I don't know if I have ever told them properly, thanked them properly....but I do. Thank you.
Here a session we did in late fall at Harmar Village.
